Enhancing preoperative planning and surgical outcomes with Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI): A case series analysis

POZSÁR Kinga, SOLYMOSI Diana, MANGEL Tünde, SZUDI Gábor, SZALMÁS Orsolya, VÁRALLYAY Péter

Advanced neuroimaging tools are essential for preoperative planning for maximizing tumor resection and preserving brain function. Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI) with tractography has emerged as a valuable tool in neurosurgical practice, providing insights into the relationship between white matter tracts and intracranial lesions, hence aiding in preoperative planning.

Interlayer dural split technique: A novel approach to Chiari 1 malformations

IOAN-ALEXANDRU Florian, BOUROS Maria Mihaela, TEODORA-LARISA Florian, IOAN-STEFAN Florian

To introduce an alternative surgical ap- proach for the treatment of Chiari I Malformation with mild-to-moderate syringomyelia following a decompres- sive suboccipital craniectomy. The indication of combined endoscopic transnasal and transcranial/transorbital surgery of skull base tumors

NAGY Gábor, HORVATH Barnabás, SZALÓKI Tibor, FORGÁCS Gábor, KORÁNYI Katalin, ENTZ László, TAMÁS László, ERŐSS Loránd, SIPOS László, REISCH Robert

The idea of multidisciplinary approach and increasing experience with endoscopic transnasal surgery and extended endoscopic approaches, such as transpterygoid, opened a wide range of indication of endoscopic surgery on skull base tumors. However, there are anatomical limitations of pure endonasal approach.

Superior gluteal artery perforator flap for the soft tissue reconstruction after resection of sacral tumors

LAZARY Aron, SZOVERFI Zsolt, BICZO Adam, HALMY Csaba

Reconstruction of the soft-tissue defects following sacrectomy is challenging, usually requiring flaps to fill in the surgical cavity and to provide optimal wound healing. Vertical rectus abdominis and gluteal muscle flaps the gold-standard methods for soft tissue reconstruction after sacrectomy – are characterized by technically demanding preparation and necrosis or chronic atrophy in case of deteriorated blood supply.
