A 3D surface integral based accuracy metric for stereotactic EEG electrode implants and case study

KOLUMBÁN Bálint, TÓTH Márton, HORVÁTH Zsolt, MOLNÁR Dávid, KOLUMBÁN Sándor

Stereotactic EEG (SEEG) electrode placement accuracy is crucial for successful clinical outcomes. Traditional metrics rely on 3D Euclidean distances and angles between specific points, providing some insight into electrode positioning relative to the plan. However, these metrics may overlook nuanced variations in electrode placement that could impact clinical efficacy.

A microsurgical arteriovenous malformation model on the saphenous vessels in the rat

AL-SMADI W. Mohammad, FAZEKAS A. László, ALSAN Siran, NÉMETH Norbert

Arteriovenous malformation (AVM) is an anomaly of blood vessel formation. Numerous models have been established to understand the nature of AVM.

Spinal dermoid cyst: a case report

GHASSEN Gader

Spinal dermoid cysts are rare congenital lesions. While MRI can often diagnose dermoid cysts in their typical form, superinfected cysts are challenging to diagnose due to their clinical presentation and nonspecific radiological features.

Surgical Techniques and Outcomes of Anterior (ALIF) and Oblique (OLIF) Lumbosacral Fusions

SZABÓ Viktor, BERTA Balázs, NAGY Máté, KULCSÁR Dominik, SCHWARCZ Attila

Anterior lumbar interbody fusion (ALIF) is a well-described and widely applied surgical technique to treat lumbosacral degenerative spine diseases. Our paper would like to demonstrate that the right-sided oblique approach (OLIF) to the lumbosacral segment represents an equivalent alternative to the conventional ALIF approach.

Predicting sensory outcomes with machine learning in deep brain stimulation

HALÁSZ László, BASTIAN E. A. Sajonz, MIKÓS Gabriella, GIJS van Elswijk, SAMAN Hagh Gooie, VÁRKUTI Bálint, VOLKER A. Coenen, ERŐSS Loránd

In clinical deep brain stimulation (DBS) applications, stimulation-induced sensations are typically viewed as undesired side effects. However, in emerging contexts such as computer-brain interface applications, intentionally inducing sensations may be desirable.
