The prevalence of osteoporotic vertebra compression fractures in Europe is 18–26%. Worldwide, approximately 20% of older adults aged more than 70. Most of these injuries can be treated conservatively, the underlying concepts have not been defined clearly or uniformly.
Thise presentation emphasizes that the evaluation and management of recent Osteoporotic Vertebral Compression Fractures necessitates a multidisciplinary approach involving spine specialists and Reumatologist, bone disease experts. It also addresses the role of conservative versus surgical treatments, and reviewed wide spectrum of the surgical treatment possibilities.
