Intracortical mechanisms of after-discharges elicited by intracranial 50 Hz stimulation of epileptic patients

SZABÓ Johanna-Petra, HAJNAL Boglárka, SÁKOVICS Anna, ERŐSS Loránd, FABÓ Dániel

Rhythmic stimulation-induced discharges, known as after-discharges (AD), have long been correlated with epileptogenic processes. Nevertheless, the latent neuronal processes, as well as its exact relationship with the epileptogenic zone (EZ), are still poorly understood.

Early experience with robot-assisted cysto-ventriculostomy

ERŐSS Loránd, NAGY Gábor, MIKLÓS Gabriella, HALÁSZ László

Endoscopic cysto-ventriculostomy is a minimally invasive approach for intracranial cyst treatment. However, inadequate visibility within cystic spaces often complicates identifying adjacent anatomical landmarks like the ventricle, leading to procedural challenges and potential conversion to craniotomy.

Enhancing preoperative planning and surgical outcomes with Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI): A case series analysis

POZSÁR Kinga, SOLYMOSI Diana, MANGEL Tünde, SZUDI Gábor, SZALMÁS Orsolya, VÁRALLYAY Péter

Advanced neuroimaging tools are essential for preoperative planning for maximizing tumor resection and preserving brain function. Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI) with tractography has emerged as a valuable tool in neurosurgical practice, providing insights into the relationship between white matter tracts and intracranial lesions, hence aiding in preoperative planning.

Epileptiform discharges in the anterior thalamus of epilepsy patients

JORDÁN Zsófia, SZABÓ Johanna-Petra, SÁKOVICS Anna, KELEMEN Anna, HALÁSZ László, ERŐSS Loránd, FABÓ Dániel

Anterior thalamus (ANT) deep-brain stimulation (DBS) is approved therapy for drug resistant epilepsy. We aimed to identify interictal epileptiform discharges (IED) in the ANT and to investigate their relationship with surface IEDs.

Haemangioblastoma presenting with acute subarach noid haemorrhage – The importance of differential diagnosis, a case report

Although haemangioblastomas are the most common primary intra-axial infratentorial tumors in adults, they are nontheless rare in general. They are benign, low-grade capillary haemangiomas, that can be sporadic or associated with Von Hippel-Lindau syndrome.
