Superior gluteal artery perforator flap for the soft tissue reconstruction after resection of sacral tumors

LAZARY Aron, SZOVERFI Zsolt, BICZO Adam, HALMY Csaba

Reconstruction of the soft-tissue defects following sacrectomy is challenging, usually requiring flaps to fill in the surgical cavity and to provide optimal wound healing. Vertical rectus abdominis and gluteal muscle flaps the gold-standard methods for soft tissue reconstruction after sacrectomy – are characterized by technically demanding preparation and necrosis or chronic atrophy in case of deteriorated blood supply.

The indication of combined endoscopic transnasal and transcranial/transorbital surgery of skull base tumors

NAGY Gábor, HORVATH Barnabás, SZALÓKI Tibor, FORGÁCS Gábor, KORÁNYI Katalin, ENTZ László, TAMÁS László, ERŐSS Loránd, SIPOS László, REISCH Robert

The idea of multidisciplinary approach and increasing experience with endoscopic transnasal surgery and extended endoscopic approaches, such as transpterygoid, opened a wide range of indication of endoscopic surgery on skull base tumors. However, there are anatomical limitations of pure endonasal approach.

Comparison of anterior column reconstruction techniques after en bloc spondylectomy: a finite element study

POKRINI Ágoston Jakab, TURBUCZ Máté, KISS Rita Mária, ELTES Peter Endre, LAZARY Aron

Total en bloc spondylectomy (TES) effectively treats spinal tumors. The surgery requires a vertebral body replacement (VBR), for which several solutions were developed, whereas the biomechanical differences between these devices still need to be completely understood.

Moulded osteomyofascial pedicled split (MOPS) craniotomy flap in reconstruction of anterior cranial fossa defect Pilot study of a novel technique

VINU Gopal

Anterior cranial fossa defects (ACF) still remains a reconstructive challenge to neurosurgeons due to difficult location, inaccessibility and unfavorable vascular anatomy. Usual reconstructive methods reported complications like recurrent cerebrospinal fluid leak due to bone resorption and tissue breakdown.

Probabilistic tractography plays a vital role in guiding lead placement for deep brain stimulation (DBS) in individuals with essential tremor

ERŐSS Botond Ágoston, HALÁSZ László, MIKÓS Gabriella, TAMÁS Gertrúd, ERŐSS G. Loránd

Since the initial implementation of deep brain stimulation (DBS) for essential tremor by Pollack and Benabid, it has emerged as the gold standard treatment over the past three decades. However, achieving successful outcomes still relies heavily on accurate planning and electrophysiological mapping of the Vim(ventral intermediate nucleus of thalamus).

Új mammográfia eljárás, csökkentett sugárzási dózis

Az első mammográfiás rendszert, amely a képminőség romlása nélkül csökkenti a vizsgált betegeket érő sugárzási dózist akár 30 százalékkal, a Siemens Healthcare fejlesztette ki.
