[THE PATHOBIOLOGICAL BASES OF CANCER]

JENEY András

[This communication intends to give an overview of the cell biological changes that maintain the underlying pathobiological events (invasive growth, metastasis formation, angiogenesis) of tumour progression. The multiple and continuously accumulating mutations of the cells affected by the etiological factors are collectively termed the malignant genotype of the tumour cells, which varies greatly on one hand, but, on the other hand, they are invariably related to an increased survival potential or invasive growth. Properties of the tumour cells produced by the malignant genotype, including immortalization, reduced apoptosis, uncontrolled proliferation, adaptation to hypoxia, resistance, metastatic potency and production of biopolymers harmful to the body are collectively termed the malignant phenotype. The malignant phenotype shows a remarkable variance among the tumours, also, certain forms are present in all stages, while others only appear in specific stages of tumour progression. Consequently, beside clinico-pathological examinations, the identification of the underlying malignant phenotype in each tumour allows a better prediction of tumour progression and a targeted planning of therapy.]

[Gender differencies in coronary reactivity in angiotensin II hypertension rat model]

MÁTRAI Máté, NÁDASY György L, HETHÉSSY Judit, SZEKERES Mária, Monos Emil, SZÉKÁCS Béla, VÁRBÍRÓ Szabolcs

[It is known that hypertension shows several gender specific elements both in pathogenesis and in therapy. Understanding this phenomenon may bring us closer to individualized therapy. That was the reason why we examined process of hypertensive adaptation on the level of small intramural coronary arteries. 10-10 male and female Sprague-Dawley rats were used in this study. Animals received osmotic pumps in anaesthesia, which emitted 100 ng/bwkg/min angiotensin II acetate for four weeks. After four weeks treatment, animals were sacrified and heart weights were measured. We isolated intramural, small branches of the left anterior descendant coronary artery, placed them into vessel chamber and tested biomechanical properties and pharmacological reactivity. Heart weight and wall thickness were higher in females comparing to males. However, basal vascular tone and thromboxane-mediated vasoconstriction were elevated in males. Bradykinin relaxation was bigger in females. In female animals inward eutrophic remodeling was found, while in males increased wall stress and elastic moduli dominated the adaptation process. In conclusion, initial steps of angiotensin II mediated hypertension induced markedly gender dependent alterations.]

[Gynecological correlations of eating disorders]

GALIGER-DOBOS Kitty, TÚRY Ferenc

[In recent decades, the incidence of eating disorders (its two major forms are anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa) has increased, their course has been delayed, and their complications are becoming more frequent and severe. Eating disorders cannot only damage physical and mental health but also affect reproductive health, future mothers and their children. Understanding the biological and psychosocial factors that explain the gynecological conditions related to eating disorders is essential regarding fertility and pregnancy. The present review summarizes data published from 2000 about the gynecological effects of eating disorders. In daily practice, the multidisciplinary collaboration is particularly important to provide women with eating disorders with comprehensive care. The appropriate information of women who plan to have children is essential in order to increase the likelihood of conception and reduce the risk of miscarriage. ]

[Nursing career of the high-school students]

TISÓCZKI Evelin, BALOGH Zoltán

[Aim of the research: The aim of the study is to analyze the trends of student orientation in the age and compulsory education process by age group. In our research, we would like to answer the question of how much „popularity” the health care profession as a professional area among students participating in Hungarian public education. If you feel this area of expertise close to you, what kind of vision you have. Research and sampling methods: A self-constructed questionnaire was administered during 24 Oct 2017 - 13 Jan 2018. In all counties of Hungary, the authors sent it to at least one of the training sites and filled up with me (N=329). These training sites are involved in healthcare training. Data were analysed with SPSS 15.0 for Windows statistical program. Chi square, Mann-Whitney tests were applied (p <0,05). Results: Out of the 159 people (48%), 170 (52%) in the family have healthcare workers. When performing the controls of the distributions, we can conclude that there is no significant difference in the distribution between the two groups, so there is the same number - that is, statistically significant difference - of the proportion of those willing to choose the health care path. In terms of career choice, 276 (86%) of respondents believe it is likely to be oriented towards the health care path, with 46 people (14%) planning their life is in another direction. Seven of its principal did not answer the question. By completing the Mann-Whitney test, we can conclude that there is no significant difference between the two groups in the medians, so there is no difference - that is, statistically significant difference - with respect to career choice as a nursing profession’s esteem. Of the 329 participants, 215 (65%) replied that they would like to work as a nurse, while 114 (35%) responded that they would not choose this job. Conclusion: Don’t influence significantly the career entrant if there is a healthcare worker in the family. Who stand in front of career choice don’t influence significantly the appreciation but is more motivated by sympathy and helplessness toward another person.]
