[On February 19, 2022 We celebrate the 205th anniversary of the birth of the first national matronage (head nurse), Zsuzsanna Kossuth. Zsuzsanna Kossuth was characterized by a high degree of empathy, self-sacrifice, exemplary behaviour, and professionalism. She laid the foundation for the processes of nursing and patient care and performed outstanding professional work throughout his life. She made no distinction between man and man, she only saw the suffering patient, in every soldier and injured. She sacrificed his life for his profession. The Hungarian Nursing Association founded the Zsuzsanna Kossuth commemorative medal in 1998, the year of the 150th anniversary of the War of Independence, which is donated every year on February 19.]

[The field of healthcare is constantly developing, and the role of nurses is of paramount importance in the optimal care and treatment of patients. Practical education for nurses is essential to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to provide complex health care to patients. However, traditional hands-on teaching methods are time-consuming and sometimes offer limited opportunities to practice in varied and critical clinical situations.
This article reviews the place and benefits of simulation in the practical education of nurses. The simulation gives nurses the opportunity to practice handling different cases in a realistic, controlled environment, thus improving their decision-making skills and communication skills. After a brief historical overview, it will be presented what types of simulation tools and methods are available for the practical education of nurses and how they support the students’ knowledge acquisition and development.]

[Scientific research appearing in the literature proves that the effective rehabilitation of Covid-19 patients begins already in the phase of acute care. Aim: The purpose of the study is to assess nurses’ knowledge of rehabilitation along the lines of continuity of health care for Covid-19 patients. The research was conducted among nurses working in the care of Covid-19 patients by analyzing an online questionnaire. The selection criterion for participation in the study was that the respondent should work as a nurse during the study and in the pre-trial period in the field of Covid-19 hospital care. The questionnaire consisted of 25 closed-ended questions about rehabilitation care for Covid-19 patients, knowledge of disease-related damage, and rehabilitation-oriented care for Covid-19 patients. The nursing staff does not know the rehabilitation needs of patients with Sars-CoV-2 virus infection. Nurses identify rehabilitation with long-term goals rather than as a process appearing at every stage of patient care. Nurses have incomplete knowledge of both rehabilitation options and nursing roles. As a result of the pandemic, rehabilitation is also playing an increasing role in acute care. In the training of nurses, greater emphasis should be placed on the development of a rehabilitation approach and the education of knowledge. More effective patient care necessitates a change of mindset in nursing activities. ]

[Dental prevention includes, although – especially within the frames of this article – not exclusively the oral cavity prevention. The main goal of this article is to provide an understandable and comprehensive picture for healthcare workers regarding the importance of the oral hygiene and daily oral care of inpatients. We can see it today, that dental care is much more than just the treatment and prevention of oropharingeal lesions. As a scientifically proven fact the oral hygiene, as well its quality and its condition has a basic effect on general health, greatly influences the formation, process, treatment and recovery of other mainly really serious illnesses. Currently there are many professional ongoing researches aiming to manifest the emergence of cohesion between the condition of oral cavity and other systematic illnesses.]

[Hadrontherapy is an innovative treatment to fight against cancer. In hadrontherapy, beams of strongly interacting particles such as protons or ions are used to treat cancers. Because beams of protons or ions can be very precisely focused, they are well suited to treating deep-seated tumours or those located close to critical organs. There is an unequal access to hadrontherapy facilities in Europe. Many centers in Europe already offer hadron therapy, but there is currently no such institution in Hungary, despite the fact that more and more tumors are being diagnosed here. Hungarian patients can access hadrontherapy treatments according to the intra-EU mobility rules or private health insurances.
