Ideggyogy Sz 2007;60(1-2):56-60.] egyrészt szeretnék gratulálni az érdekes differenciáldiagnosztikai problémákat felvető közleményhez, másrészt a schizencephalia fogalmi megközelítéséről szeretnék röviden szólni.

Az újszülött komplex magatartásának vizsgálata - Katona Ferenc munkásságának hatása

Identifying and treating CNS-injured infants has always been Ferenc Katona’s main goal. Early on, he showed the importance of “elementary motor patterns” to development, and their application in treatment of early brain injury. We report on a neonatal neurobehavioral assessment derived from Katona that has concurrent and predictive validity in the NICU population. It evaluates early behavioral capabilities and dysfunctions in areas often disrupted by CNS injury, such as attention, motor organization, and autoregulation; provides a valuable approach for assessing recovery from CNS injury; and predicts later mental and motor performance.

Despite of the now well-recognised importance of trace elements in medical field - it is established that several diseases of the central nervous system, like Alzheimer’s disease are connected to alterations of trace elements levels - reliable data on their concentrations in normal and pathological human brain are still rare. Correlation studies are even more scarce in the literature, especially in case of Alzheimer’s disease.
