[Social Values versus Nurses’ Values? Coherency of value research]

[Those who are selected for BSc nursing training, have special values and value systems. The values can be approached, if we answer for the question, what is valuable to us. The values are incorporated into the personality during socialization and human interactions. Those who choose a helper occupation, have a special value preference, which predicts the success of the career. The author discuss the social values, the values that are necessary to a helper occupation and the values of those attending nursing training, summarizing the results of the main professional statements and research in connection with the theme.]

[The relationship of work-related conflicts and burnout among health care workers]

[The aim of the study was to investigate the relationship of work-related conflicts and burnout; furthermore to reveal the types of reactions to work-related conflicts. Material and Methods: The survey was conducted between June and August of 2016 using a self-constructed online questionnaire. Data were analyzed with SPSS 23.0; Kolmogorov-Smirnov, Shapiro-Wilk, Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney tests (Bonferroni correction) and Spearman’s rank correlation were applied (p<0.05). Results: Only 4.6% of the 1201 responders had never experienced any work-related conflicts. Burnout is present on some level by 44.2% of them. In the case of a conflict 62.2% tries to settle the problem with the source of the conflict; 41.2% talks back and one-third gets angry and unsettled. The severity of burnout and the frequency of work-related conflicts are correlated (r=0.390; p<0.000). Conclusions: The longer someone is suffering from psychic disturbances the more conflicts he/she experiences on the job. Participants usually used self-defence techniques.]

[Double taboo: disabled people, sexual needs during the care in the hospital]

[This paper presents the situation and perceptions of nurses regarding sexuality related to disabled patient care in hospital. The nurses have difficulty dealing with issues of sexuality, and the reasons for this were complex and interrelated. Patient care is influenced by nurses’ perceptions of sexuality. Nurses basically could discuss of sexuality with their patients however, the sexuality is a fundamental part of being human. A person’s sexuality or sexual health can be temporarily or permanently altered by illness or treatment. Nurses are well suited to deal with patients’ needs regarding sexuality, because nurses are in constant contact with patients and because of the intimate nature of care that nurses could provide the sexual care, information’s and education on this field. Professional boundaries are the spaces between the nurse’s “power” and the patient’s vulnerability. The power of the nurse comes from the nurse’s professional position and access to sensitive personal information. Nurses should make every effort to respect the power imbalance and ensure a patient- centered relationship.]

[Development the mental and physical health of the healthcare staff]

[Objectives: To analyse, whether the mental and physical health of the healthcare staff can be influenced by movement therapy. Methods: Between May and July 2016 we held multiple movement therapy sessions within the healthcare staff of the the Hungarian Army Medical Center, Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation Institute in Hévíz. With the help of the so called General Health Questionnare I collected information about the mental state of the participants. This questionnaire included 12 questions and had to be filled out by each and every person alone. From the physical variables perspective I collected information from the staff in regards to the mobility of their spine. Microsoft Excel was used for the analysis of the data and to prove the significance of the variables, I used the T-probe method. Results: Majority of the participants has both internal medicine and musculosceletal problems, symphtoms and diseases. Though the psychic stress on them can be clearly seen, it can be treated with movement therapy efficiently. On the other hand, I could not find any significant change in the variables related to the spine-movements. Conclusions: With the help of regular movement therapy the mental state of the staff can be efficiently infleunced and improved. Further studies suggested a greater number of elements, for detected the physical changes.]

[Aim of the study: During the study my target was to identify the career motivations, prestige of caretakers and nurses working in the Gödöllő social services and get acquainted with the most important values in their life. Sample and methods: Descriptive type research, number of elements are 81 (n=81). Summarization of the data was executed by Microsoft Office Excel 2007. Results: The employees took part in the research considered their profession as relatively low prestigious, although they would choose again this profession if they could decide again. Supporting professionals consider health, family, friendship and affection as the most important value in their life. Conclusions: The nursesand caretakers interviewed by me consider their choice of career successful in spite of its low prestige and they like their profession. Recognition the values of the employees is an important objective, because the identified values determine the quality of the work they perform.]

[Comparison of the cost-effectiveness of vacuum assisted closure, as an innovative procedure, and traditional wound treatment, in the light of quality aspects]

[Recent decades have seen expansion in the literature and fi ndings related to the healing of wounds, and many new options for promoting wound healing have become available. The innovative wound treatment procedure known as vacuum assisted closure can be used for a wide range of indications, and can ensure the optimal conditions for the start of the wound healing processes. The study reveals the cost implications of negative pressure therapy through a study of the treatment of two patients, and also presents the components of the quality aspects identifi ed at Hatvan hospital, as defi ned in the Donabedián model, the PDCA cycle of the applied vacuum-assisted wound treatment, and the impact of the revealed components on the quality and costeffectiveness of the patient care. The author emphasises that the use of even the latest technologies can only effectively ensure the development of healthcare if combined with the commitment of managers and workers to assure quality, and if the fundamental principles of quality improvement are integrated into the structure and process of healthcare provision.]

[Nursing career of the high-school students]

[Aim of the research: The aim of the study is to analyze the trends of student orientation in the age and compulsory education process by age group. In our research, we would like to answer the question of how much „popularity” the health care profession as a professional area among students participating in Hungarian public education. If you feel this area of expertise close to you, what kind of vision you have. Research and sampling methods: A self-constructed questionnaire was administered during 24 Oct 2017 - 13 Jan 2018. In all counties of Hungary, the authors sent it to at least one of the training sites and filled up with me (N=329). These training sites are involved in healthcare training. Data were analysed with SPSS 15.0 for Windows statistical program. Chi square, Mann-Whitney tests were applied (p <0,05). Results: Out of the 159 people (48%), 170 (52%) in the family have healthcare workers. When performing the controls of the distributions, we can conclude that there is no significant difference in the distribution between the two groups, so there is the same number - that is, statistically significant difference - of the proportion of those willing to choose the health care path. In terms of career choice, 276 (86%) of respondents believe it is likely to be oriented towards the health care path, with 46 people (14%) planning their life is in another direction. Seven of its principal did not answer the question. By completing the Mann-Whitney test, we can conclude that there is no significant difference between the two groups in the medians, so there is no difference - that is, statistically significant difference - with respect to career choice as a nursing profession’s esteem. Of the 329 participants, 215 (65%) replied that they would like to work as a nurse, while 114 (35%) responded that they would not choose this job. Conclusion: Don’t influence significantly the career entrant if there is a healthcare worker in the family. Who stand in front of career choice don’t influence significantly the appreciation but is more motivated by sympathy and helplessness toward another person.]

[The public catering reform in social care institutions from the care professionals point of view]

[In the European Union, the prevalence of excess weight and obesity have dramatically increased. This increase is associated with inappropriate nutrition and the lack of physical exercise, which in turn lead to an increase of chronic ill health. Consequently, this will adversely affect the quality of life, as well as the life expectancy in the long run. The health of the Hungarian population is poorer than that of other European nations. Less life years are lost in Western European countries. Poor diet plays a pivotal role among other lifestyle associated risk factors affecting health. In light of the above evidence, actions plans and programmes have been designed, as well as ministerial decrees were issued in order to sustain and improve the health of the population. There is evidence that a strong relationship exists between diet and health. Excessive dietary intake of salt increases the risk of high blood pressure. Furthermore, excessive intake of salt, carbohydrates and fat can lead to cardiovascular and malignant diseases, as well as diabetes. Obesity can be prevented by a healthy diet. However, the role of supportive environment cannot be overemphasised when it comes to the introduction of a new, healthier diet and lifestyle.]
