[Data on the clinic and pathology of DDT intoxication]

FORNÁDI Ferenc, POHL Ödön, SZEGEDY László

The poisoning symptoms were predominantly neurological, with cerebellar symptoms in one case and polyneuropathic symptoms in two others. In the pathological work-up of one of their cases, they provide data on the still rather unclear pathology of DDT poisoning in humans. ]

[Data for the clinic of Parkinson's disease and syndrome, the significance of psychological trauma]

RÁBAI Kálmán

[1. In the patients under my treatment I have described my observations on the clinical symptoms of the disease: the marked sideways tilting, namely, the tremor to the side, the striking rapid deterioration of the teeth, the frequency of tremor in the j.o., the severity of the nocturnal restlessness and psychic picture, the feeling of fullness in the bowels, as symptoms which have received little attention in the reports up to the present time. 2. I draw attention to the importance of psychic trauma in the pathogenesis of Parkinson's syndrome, hypothesizing its pathomechanism through thalamic striatopallidal connections. 3. In my therapeutic results, I report on the good outcome of the Artane-Bellafit combination.]

[The relationship between pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy in the treatment of psychoses ]

TÖRÖK István

[The author's arguments show that psychotherapy can be a permanent complement to pharmacotherapy and vice versa. This applies even to the 'perpetual residents' of institutions. If we consider occupational therapy alone, we can also say that psychotics, who are still viewed with a certain prejudice by society, can, with therapeutic purposefulness, with occupational therapy conducted in a planned way, in which economic considerations may play a part, but not a primary role, recoup society's expenditure to some extent.]
